Pro Grass Lawn Care, Inc. established in 1979 is one of the largest independently owned, local lawn service and ornamental shrub care companies in the Baltimore, MD area, conveniently located in the heart of Timonium, Maryland. We provide lawn care to Baltimore, Harford, Howard, Anne Arundel and Carroll counties and areas in southern Pennsylvania such as New Freedom, Stewartstown, Shrewsbury and Glen Rock. Our trained lawn and tree/shrub specialists are all board certified by the Maryland Department of Agriculture in the use and safety of pesticide and fertilizer applications. Pro Grass, Inc. was originally founded in 1979 by Louis Cariello, and is now under the ownership and management of his son, Anthony Cariello, who earned his degree in Agronomy from the University of Maryland in College Park. Family Owned
Began working summers at Pro Grass in 1979 when his father, Louis Cariello, started the company. Earned Agronomy Degree from University of Maryland in 1985. Holds certifications in Maryland and Pennsylvania in Pesticide Use and Safety. Member of Baltimore County Leadership, National Federation of Independent Business.
Meet Our Team
Earned a two-year degree in Turf Management from the University of Maryland. After several years experience in the golf turf industry, Chris began working at Pro Grass as a lawn care technician in 2011, and in 2015 became our Service Manager. Holds certifications in Maryland and Pennsylvania in Pesticide use and Safety. Attends recertification education on pesticide use annually as well as continuing education throughout the year.
Attended the University of Maryland and earned a Bachelors degree in Plant Science in 2016. Holds certifications in the state of Maryland for categories 3A- Ornamental Exterior, 3C- Turf, 7A- General Pest Control and 8- Public Health. Michael began working at Pro Grass part time in 2011, and became a full time employee after his college graduation in 2016.
Hired in 2005, Matt worked as a lawn care technician until 2010 when he became our Production Manager. Has attended numerous continuing education seminars on leadership, and re-certification education for pesticide and fertilizer use annually. Holds certifications in Maryland and Pennsylvania in both Fertilizer and Pesticide Use and Safety.
Began working at Pro Grass in 1992 as a lawn care technician, and in 2005 became our Sales Manager. Holds certifications in Maryland and Pennsylvania in Pesticide use and Safety. Attends recertification education on pesticide use annually as well as continuing education throughout the year.

I have been with Pro Grass for 8 years. Value is excellent. Initially my lawn was a mess after we built on old farmland. Today the lawn is in superior condition across 2+ acres. Staff is professional – they do a nice methodical application even in hard to get to places. Despite weather patterns over the years they never seem to get “off cycle” with their applications – this is a good thing. I would, and have recommended them to others.
